Need to get someone out of jail?

When someone is arrested, they are booked into jail. Within 24 hours, the Defendant is brought before a judge to determine if there is probable cause to hold them pending further proceedings. If the judge deems that there is probable cause, he or she can set a bond amount that will need to be paid before the Defendant can be released. If the Defendant does not have the cash to pay the bond, he or she may contract with a bondsman to put up the money to be released. The bondsman will typically require a percentage of the bond as their fee.

Bondsmen may also make Defense attorney recommendations. It is in your best interest to consult with multiple attorneys in the area so you have control over who will represent your interests best, not just limit yourself or loved one to those whom the bondsmen recommend.
