Ian L. Clarke, Esquire


Ian L. Clarke has been practicing in Naples, Fort Myers, and Southwest Florida since 2005. Early on, he practiced construction and real estate law and later he practiced criminal and general civil litigation. He has worked with John O. McGowan and specializes in criminal, general civil and dependency law. He is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a County and Family Mediator.


•Mr. Clarke graduated Stetson University College of Law where we held the office of Student Bar Association President, was a member of Stetson' Award winning Client Counseling and Negotiation teams, and won the Anthony Battaglia Excellence in Leadership Award. He attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia receiving degrees in both English and Communication.


•Before Law school he worked on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Correspondent for then Senator Fred Thompson and on the House Subcommittee for Commercial and Administrative Law.

John O. McGowan, Esquire


John O. McGowan has been practicing in Naples, Fort Myers, and the Southwest Florida area for over 20 years. He was an Assistant State Attorney for 5 years and then in private practice concentrating on criminal law in both the State and Federal systems as well as complex civil litigation. He has handled the full spectrum of issues in the criminal arena and represented clients in a wide range of civil litigation areas.


•Mr. McGowan attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan, receiving his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, and Eckerd College in Florida where he received a degree in History. He is currently serving his second term on the North Naples Fire Control and Rescue District Board as Fire Commissioner.


•Mr. McGowan has contributed to the Southwest Florida Community as guest lecturer for the Collier County Sheriff's Office Training Division and guest lecturer for the Drug Enforcement Administration Taskforce in Fort Myers, Florida.
